Product Description:

The perfect addition to your kitchen pantry, AJ’s Walla Walla Sweet Onion Mustard will make you wonder why you’ve bothered with that other yellow stuff.  You’ll love blend of smooth mustard flavor along side the wonderfully sweet Walla Walla Sweet Onion flavor.  We get our onions direct from local farms every year and process them here in our facility.

What I Think:

I mentioned my fondness for mustard when I reviewed the Horseradish-Dill Mustard from SchoolHouse Kitchen … or rather, my grampa’s fondness for mustard!  I was quite fond of my grampa, and I don’t know that I would have had such an appreciation for the condiment if not for him.

When I found this mustard at Whole Foods, I knew I had to try it.  After all, I do live in Washington, and we’re quite proud of the Walla Walla Sweet Onions here.

As great as this mustard is on sandwiches (and it is!) I think I prefer it as a dip for pretzels!  I like the flavor balance of this mustard.  It is pleasantly sweet, but there is a spicy undertone to it.  Not what I’d call spicy-hot, but, there is just enough kick to it to keep it interesting.  The texture is creamy and it looks a little more like a thick dressing than a mustard.  It has the right amount of tangy flavor from the vinegar, a little bit of spice to it from the mustard and a mild sweetness from the onion.

My Final Thoughts:

This yummy mustard will turn a simple snack food like the humble pretzel into something quite extraordinary.
