I received this energy bar in my January box from Knoshy!

Tea Suggestion:

When I eat energy bars, I like to drink green tea.  Green tea is an invigorating tea, so I find that that extra boost of energy that I get from the green tea is nice to go with the “energy” of the bar.  I chose this Organic Mountain Indonesian Green Tea from Tea at Sea to drink with this bar.  The sweet, buttery flavors of the tea went nicely with the whole grain goodness of the bar.

What I Think:

I was really excited to find not one but two energy bars from Off The Farm in January’s Knoshy box.   Normally, my attitude toward energy bars is kind of blasé, but I make an exception for the energy bars from this company, because I really enjoyed the Apple Cinnamon bar that I’ve tried previously.

This is tasty!  Lots of seeds, lots of nuts, and lots of fruity flavors.  I don’t taste as much vanilla as I expected to since this bar is called “Blueberry Vanilla.”  But there’s a bounty of blueberries in this … it’s packed with them!

My Final Thoughts:

Really delicious.  I love the big, juicy blueberries, I love the crunchy seeds of the bar … I do wish there was more of a vanilla note to it, but, I do like the berries.

naturalcrispsProduct Information:

Using a handful of natural ingredients, 34 Degrees carefully bakes their wafer-thin crackers until they are subtly toasty and overtly tasty.

These flavorful crisps pair well with mild to sharp cheeses, blue cheese, spicy spreads, and orange honey butter. They are great for parties and holiday celebrations!

I received a sample pouch of these crisps in my December Love with Food box.

Tea Suggestion:

I don’t often drink a jasmine tea with the foods that I review, because I find that the jasmine often interferes with the flavor of the foods and I don’t get to explore the foods properly.  But that wasn’t the case with these crisps!  I thought that this Organic Jasmine Tea from Kally Tea was a perfect complement to these crackers – the savory of the crisps contrasted nicely with the sweet, exotic notes of the jasmine.  A really nice way to enjoy these crisps!

What  I Think:

I didn’t pair these with cheese or any type of dip.  Instead, I ate them right out of the package with a cup of jasmine tea, and I found it to be a delightful tea time, indeed!

I love the texture of these!  They’re so light and crisp.

Really tasty.  There’s not a lot to them, they’re SUPER thin and crispy and really … that’s it.  Just a crispy bit of a cracker.  Not overly salty, no extraneous flavor additions … these are kind of like an extra super thin saltine cracker with a little less salt.

But I think that’s what I dig about them.  They are just simple little crackers with a really enjoyable, crispy, crackly texture.

My Final Thoughts:

I am definitely going to be buying these again.  I found them in my local grocery store, and they have a variety of flavors, so I think I’m going to do a little exploration of these crisps, and next time, I’ll try them out with cheese and dips too.

Tea Suggestion:

When I snack on chips, I usually prefer cold liquid refreshment … iced tea!   And since I had just recently brewed some Houjicha from Tealet, and what was left in the pot had cooled, I decided to pour that over ice and enjoy it with these chips.  This pairing really made a lovely snack!  The toasty flavor of the Houjicha brought out some of the hints of spice in the Cassava that I might not have noticed otherwise.

What I Think:

Not too long ago, I was contacted by Wai Lana products, after they had read my review of the Herb & Garlic flavored Wai Lana Chips … they offered to send me some more of their chips to taste and review!  Since I really enjoyed the Cassava chips from Wai Lana that I had tried previously, I was certainly eager to try more of the Wai Lana products so of course I said yes!

This is one of four samples that I was sent, and I chose to try this one first because I wanted to get a better idea of what the Cassava chip tasted without seasoning or flavoring.  And I really like it!  I like this better than I would like a plain potato chip, which I usually find relatively boring.

These chips are really light and crispy, with a sort of “air popped” quality to them and I like that texture.  It still as a sort of “fried” kind of taste to it that is very appealing, but, it doesn’t taste greasy.  The texture of these reminds me a bit “Funyuns” … you know, those onion ring like chips?  They’re a bit thinner than the average Funyun, but, it has that same crunchy kind of texture … and after a while I pick up a very delicate onion flavor which may be from the Yucca (Cassava) or the leek that I see in the ingredients list.  It’s a very slight onion-y flavor, but it is really quite nice.

The Cassava is a relatively mild taste, very much like a potato would be, only I think that this has just a little bit more of a savory edge than a typical potato chip.  It could be because of the leek flavor that comes through, or it could be that what I’m tasting is the Cassava, it’s hard to determine.  But, I do prefer the texture of these Cassava chips versus the texture of the average, thin-cut, greasy potato chip.

My Final Thoughts:

These unflavored or “Natural” flavored chips would be great served with dip, if you want to (the curved, cup shape of these chips would make a great dip chip!) but I found them quite tasty without any dip … just eaten on their own.  Crunchy and delicious.  I did like the Herb & Garlic flavored ones a bit better than these, just because I like garlic!  But, I did really like these, and I liked that I was able to explore the flavor of the Cassava a bit more!

What I Think:

Although this is not currently sold on Foodzie, it was part of my Foodzie Tasting Box for August.  And I’m really glad it was!  This is so yummy!

Of all the items in this month’s box, this is the closest to a childhood favorite for me.  And, this is even better than any marshmallow squares I remember eating in my youth.  This bar is HUGE!  It is about an inch thick!  I actually have to break it apart to eat it!

This bar is everything that I want in a marshmallow treat.  It is sweet.  It tastes marshmallow-y with a strong buttery essence.  Delightfully crispy!   This is totally yum!

My Final Thoughts:

Delicious.  Easily the best rice crispy/marshmallow treat I’ve ever had.  I want more.

Product Description:

The warm essence of cinnamon blends harmoniously with the nutty goodness of slivered almonds. Enjoy as a snack or as a breakfast cereal.

What I Think:

Before opening this pouch of granola, I had intended on eating it as a breakfast cereal, but after I opened it, I started snacking on it right away, before I could pour it in a bowl and add some milk!  I ate about half of it before I started to realize that I was about to eat it all and leave nothing for the cereal bowl!

I guess that’s my way of saying that this is pretty tasty stuff.  It is sweet and cinnamon-y.  Not a hot, spicy cinnamon, but a sweet and somewhat savory cinnamon that entices the taste buds.  The almonds lend a sweet nuttiness to the mix.  It would make a delicious snack for on the go!

But as yummy a snack this makes, it makes an even more delicious breakfast cereal.  The milk softens the oats just a little bit but it still remains crispy.  It is naturally sweet so it doesn’t need that sprinkling of sugar.  In fact, I think sugar or other sweetener would really ruin this.  It tastes so wonderfully sweet on its own, and the addition of milk gives this a very comforting quality that makes a substantial meal.

My Final Thoughts:

This is deliciously wholesome nourishment that will start your day off right.  Oh… and be sure to check out Fiona’s other items – her Original Blend Trail Mix is making me drool!
