???????????????????????????????Product Information:

A delicious gluten-free all-natural snack with the taste of homemade baked cobbler! All sugars come from natural fruit and fruit juice. For as little as 180 calories, both kids and adults will love and devour each blueberry-licious bar!

I received a blueberry fruit bar in my September Love With Food box.

Tea Suggestion:

These fruit bars make a great tea time snack with just about any kind of tea, but, I decided to go with something with nutty tones to bring out some of the sweet, nutty, cobbler-like flavors in the crust of the fruit bars.  I chose this Laoshan Genmaicha Green Tea from Verdant Tea.  A really interesting pairing, although I think that this bar would also go great with a white tea or a black tea!

What I Think:

Really yummy!

This is gluten free too!  Gluten free has never really been something that I’m concerned with, but, I know that gluten sensitivity is something that affects a lot of people, and I like that more and more foods are becoming available for those who are concerned about gluten.

I don’t miss the gluten in this!  This is seriously tasty.  The “cookie” or “cake” part of the bar is soft and chewy, similar to the softness and chewiness you’d find in a typical fig bar, but, it has an oat-y taste and texture that is somewhat reminiscent of a cobbler.  It’s kind of like a blueberry cobbler in a bar … which makes it easy to take a delicious dessert on the go!

The blueberry filling is sweet and slightly sticky … again, similar to what you might find in a fig bar (only it’s blueberry!)  It tastes a lot like a blueberry pie or cobbler filling but it isn’t runny like a cobbler.  Again … this is like cobbler on the go.

My Final Thoughts:

A really satisfying dessert bar.  This bar is something that disappeared quickly … it tasted really good.  Makes a great tea-time treat.  I love the oats in this … I love how the traditional “fig-like bar” becomes almost like a cobbler.  So yummy!

Product Information:

Cinnamon has long been known for its healing qualities. We can’t think of any better therapy than our unique blend of cinnamon sugar-infused caramel. Craving the perfect recipe? This is sweet relief. Pure, natural ingredients combined to make a snack that’s deliciously addictive.

I received a bag of these yummy corn puffs in my September Love With Food box.

Tea Suggestion:

Since these have a delicious cinnamon-y taste to them, I wanted to go with a pure tea so that i could enjoy the cinnamon notes.  I decided on a tea with some natural cinnamon flavors to it, so I chose this Vietnam Black OP1 from Single Origin Teas.  I loved how well the tea complemented the corn snacks.  The cinnamon notes of the snack brought out the cinnamon-like flavors of the tea.  Really tasty!

What I Think:

Having enjoyed both the caramel and the salted caramel Cosmos Creations, I was fairly certain I’d enjoy the Cinnamon Crunch variety.

Sweet, warm with cinnamon, crunchy … I like that these are slightly less sweet than the caramel version as the cinnamon cuts through some of the sweetness.

As I’m eating these, though, I can’t help but imagining them in a bowl with milk and eating them like a cereal.  This flavor, especially, has a very “cereal-ish” quality to it.  That’s not meant to be a criticism or a praise … just an observation.

My Final Thoughts:

I like these.  I can definitely seeing myself buying more of these and fortunately, I have seen them in stores, so I won’t need to order them.

Why it is that I love Knoshbox above all other tasting boxes!  It’s because they put forth some EFFORT in their boxes every month!  Sounds simple enough, but, really, it’s so important … at least to me … from a consumer perspective.

???????????????????????????????Every item selected in this month’s box is something that I’m excited to try.  I’ve tried products from Bumble Bar before, but these were energy bars that I really enjoyed so I don’t mind trying them again.  In this month’s box, I received the Peanut and the Cherry flavored Bumble Bars … and since I’ve already tasted and reviewed the Peanut bar (click on the Bumble Bar link to read the review), I won’t review that one again.  But I look forward to trying the cherry one … yum!

Occasionally, Knoshbox does include items that I’m not terribly excited about, but for the most part, there is more items that make me go “Yum!” with enthusiasm than products that make me go “sigh” with disappointment.  But that’s not the only reason why Knoshbox is my favorite box…

Every box has a theme that is apparent not just by reading the product card (which they DO include in every box!)  This month’s theme is “Perfect Pairings.”  On the product card, they suggest foods or beverages with which to pair the products.  So, with every review of these items, I’ll try to remember to mention what it is they recommend pairing that product with … although truth be told, I’ll probably be pairing it with nothing more than a cup (or glass) of tea.

In addition to the aforementioned bumble bars, this box has Rosemary and Olive Oil potato chips from Deep River Snacks, A great big chocolate bar from Olive & Sinclair,  a large basket of Cranberry Hazelnut Crisps from Potter’s Crackers (OK, so I might be looking for an amazing cheese to enjoy with these too.  The product card suggests either a marscapone and goat cheese.   Sounds good to me!), and a package of Orange dried fruit crisps from Simple & Crisp.  These look interesting – they’re thin slices of orange that have been dried!  I look forward to trying these!

A box of yum … that’s what arrived in the mailbox today … thanks to Knoshbox!

???????????????????????????????Product Description:

Try our raw style unbaked honey cookie. It’s our option for those of us in the gluten free world and they’re delicious. Sweet and crunchy flavors meld with nutritious organic oats and delicious organic cherries and blueberries. Who says you have to sacrifice flavor to be gluten free!

I received a Cherry Berry Raw Cookie in my September Love with Food box!

Tea Suggestion:

I brewed up a cup of this Kenyan Black Tea from Justea … and I wanted something a little sweet to enjoy with my cuppa … and I reached for this raw cookie.  The tea was better than the cookie, but the tea certainly did make the cookie more enjoyable!

What I Think:

This is the first product from my September Love with Food Box that I reached for … I was wanting something a little sweet to go with my tea, and this is what appealed to me in my stash of treats.

This is a gluten free, raw cookie.  Contrary to the above description … there really isn’t anything in this cookie that would qualify to me as “crunchy” … it’s a tart, sweet, spiced, chewy “cookie” that sort of tastes … healthy.

Nothing wrong with that, of course.  It’s not bad … it’s actually pretty tasty, but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to order this particular product, for a few reasons:  First … it’s a bit more tart than it is sweet.  I’m not a big fan of tart, and I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I really prefer the balance to be the other way around … that is, more sweet than tart.  Second, this goes a little overboard on the cinnamon.  I like cinnamon, but there’s just too much in this cookie.

OK, so I told you what I wasn’t crazy about with this cookie, so now I’ll mention what I do like about this:  I like the chewy texture, the coconut and the fruity taste.  It’s a hunger satisfying cookie.

My Final Thoughts:

Not my favorite gluten free product that I’ve ever tried.  Not my favorite “raw” product that I’ve ever tried.  It’s not bad and I wouldn’t turn it down if I were offered one of these cookies … but it’s not something I’d buy.

Product Description:

A quick and delicious snack made from stuff you can feel good about devouring.

I received this package of Snap Infusion Gummy Candy in my September Goodies Box.

Tea Suggestion:

These are so sweet and fruity, I suggest trying them with something that might offset the sweetness just a little … something that refreshes the palate!  I chose this South Korean Green Tea from Butiki Teas.  The sweetness of the candy brought out the gentle sweetness of the tea, and the sharp, vegetative tones of the tea helped to cleanse the palate so that the candy didn’t become too cloying as I happily devoured it!

What I Think:

Generally speaking, I’m not a huge fan of gummy candy.  I like it alright, but, it’s not usually my first choice when it comes to selecting something to satisfy my sweet tooth.  But I LOVE these Snap Infusion candies!

They remind me not of the typical, plasticized gelatinous bears that all the kids are eating, but more of the old fashioned gel candies like the ones from Sunkist that I used to LOVE as a kid.  They even have that soft yet chewy texture of those gel candies.

And the flavor of them!  These taste bright and fruity.  I’m loving them!  I would definitely buy these again if I saw them in the store!

And while I wouldn’t go so far as to call these “healthy” … a quick glance at the label suggests that they’re better for you than the average candy.  There are no artificial flavors or colors, no corn syrup, and there’s just 90 calories in a serving.  Each serving has Vitamins E, B6, B12, and C.  Again, not what I’d consider “healthy” and I would question the whole concept of “Supercandy” … but these are certainly a better option than the overly sugared candies that are out there, and they taste great too.

My Final Thoughts:

Definitely something I’m going to keep an eye out for the next time I’m shopping.  I like these quite a bit.

I’m usually excited and happy when my Foodzie Tasting Box arrives, but this month, I’m all that times ten!  Why?  The theme!  The theme this month is Tea Time Treats!!!

Could there possibly be a more perfect theme for me?  I mean, seriously, the only way to make it more perfect would be to make it a “Tea Time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Harry Potter.”  And… when that box arrives – I think I shall faint.

As it is though, I’m thrilled with this box.  It may only have five items (the boxes usually have six), but they are all perfect choices for Tea Time.  The selections this month include:  Salted Rosemary Shortbread Cookies from Lark Fine Foods, Snicker Dudes Cookies from Liz Lovely, Indian Ajwain Cashews from Oren’s Kitchen, Tupelo Honey from HoneyPax, and of course TEA … Earl of Bengal Tea from Teatulia.

What an awesome selection, right?

I’m so excited about each of these items … I have tried the Earl of Bengal Tea from Teatulia before, however, I’m happy to have it back in my cupboard, because it’s yummy.  I’ve tried a few of Liz Lovely’s cookies before, but not the Snicker Dudes, so I’m happy to try something different.

There is also something new about the map card this month… and that is … it’s not a map card!  It is a card telling us a little bit about the theme:

Sometimes I hit those moments (I’m sure you do too…) where things are swirling around so fast in my head, I call my own “tea time-out”.  There’s this amazing local tea shop in my neighborhood called Samovar Tea Lounge that I’ll pop into either on a Saturday morning after yoga or on a weeknight evening.  Sipping slowly on some good tea always clears my head.  This month we’ve packed your box with some amazing black tea (in compostable containers!) along with treats to pair with each sip.  Weather you throw a tea party or your own “tea time-out”, I hope you enjoy your tasting this month.

~Emily, Chief Eater

The card also features a little bit of information about each product in the box.

Best. Box. Ever!
